Split a VCF file into individual contacts

Phones and mail apps often export every contact into one big .vcf. Upload it here to see each contact on its own card, pick the ones you need, and download them individually or as a .zip.

Split a VCF into contacts

Get every contact as its own card

Download them one by one or as a .zip
How it works

Three steps

  1. 01

    Upload the .vcf

Drop the file on this page. Files exported from iPhone, Android, Gmail, Outlook and WhatsApp are all supported, up to 10 MB.

  2. 02

    Pick the contacts

Each contact appears as a card with name, phone, email and company. Search, select the ones you want, or select everything.

  3. 03

    Download

Download selected contacts as individual .vcf files inside a .zip, or as one combined file. Edit a card first if something needs fixing.

When you need to split a VCF

To share a few contacts without sending your whole address book, to import people one by one into a CRM, to attach a single card to an email, or to separate a backup into files you can search. Some older systems also accept only one contact per .vcf.

What is preserved

Names, phone numbers (all of them), e-mails, organization, title, address, website and notes. Photos embedded in the original file are kept on each contact’s card and in the downloaded files.

Duplicates

If the same person appears twice in the source file, both cards are shown so you can decide which to keep. Selecting only one of them and downloading gives you a clean copy.

FAQ

Questions about this tool

How many contacts can one .vcf hold?

There is no limit in the format. Exports with thousands of contacts are common; the splitter shows them 24 per page with search.

Can I merge several VCF files instead?

Yes. Use the “View VCF” tool, upload several files at once, and download everything as one .vcf.

Will the split files open on iPhone?

Yes. Each file is a standard vCard 3.0; tap it in Files or Mail and choose “Create New Contact”.
